AUGUST - SEPTEMBER
Belonging & Inclusion
FOCUS
Creating welcoming, emotionally safe, and inclusive school communities.
Why This Matters
The beginning of the school year sets the tone for everything that follows. When students feel welcomed, connected, and included, they are more likely to build positive relationships and contribute to a strong school community. This month is about helping every student know they belong.

QUICK TIP
Keep your first month focused on relationships—not projects. Students are much more likely to stay involved if they leave meetings feeling connected to one another.
Looking Ahead
As you wrap up your first month, begin thinking about how your club can help lead National Bullying Prevention Month in October. Invite students to brainstorm school-wide awareness activities and identify opportunities to encourage others to be upstanders.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
What helped students feel welcome this month?
Who might still need an invitation to belong?
